1. Paypal did not redirect after payment.

Please be patient and an email will be sent within 48hrs with download instructions. Please check SPAM and JunkMail folders. Otherwise, please email us at the support@virtronics.com.au and we will reply as soon as we can.

2.The Simulator crashes when run

The latest versions of Windows do not allow for the writing of files unless in full administrator mode. Please install the Simulator program into a folder which has permissions sets such as the My Documents folder or the Documents and Settings folder, or else set full administrator permissions. This is a Microsoft issue not a Virtronics issue.

3. My Anti-virus program has flagged the Simulator program as being a Trojan

Anti-Virus programs have a list of known programs and any new program is flagged as a potential threat. Simulator for Arduino has been registered with Norton and should be registered with all other Anti-virus programs.

4. I have paid for a Pro Licence but cannot unlock the Free Version.

Please check the email which has download instructions. At the end of the email is an instruction on upgrading the Free version to the Pro version.

5. I have found a bug in the Simulator

OK, this happens sometimes regardless of how long the test script is. Please send it in. Then we can make the Simulator run better and all the other Pro Users will be happy(ier). Also, please visit the forum which has some great info.

6. Should I purchase the Simulator or Arduino

Yes. But please try the Free version for the 30 day trial period. The Free version is the same as the Pro Version so make sure the Simulator is suitable. Also, remember the Simulator is priced very low so there is no need to talk the bank manager first.

7. The Free Version always comes up with a timer, even after the unlock.

OK, this means someone else has probably already installed the Simulator on this computer. Please try on a different computer or laptop. Otherwise, please upgrade to the Pro Version and join the Elite club.

8. Why isn't the Simulator open-source

The Simulator is written in Pascal so cannot be exported as C++ which is the language of choice for most open-source projects. The code is extensive and complex and we mean extensive. Making the simulator open-source will allow the IP to be easily copied and improved. The Simulator requires thousands of hours of coding and debugging and making the Simulator open-source would make the IP worthless. Of course, if we suddenly sold 100 thousand Shields for Arduino, we would reconsider this. Please note that all Shields purchase come with a free copy of the Simulator.

9. Can I install on more than one computer

Sure, but please rememebr the Simulator is sold a a Licence for one user. It is OK top let someone else use teh Simulator for an hour or so but if it becomes a re-ocurring habit, please get them to purchase their own lience. That way we can improve and add more features to the Simulator.

10. I love the Simulator and would like to use it for our school or educational institution.

Great. We have a SiteWide Licence available here. There are substantial discounts for educational institutions for orders of 100 or more. So far we have handful sites using the SiteWide licence and we welcome more.

11. Can the Simulator run C programs?

Short answer is yes. Please ensure the sketch file name has a .c suffix and the start line looks like int main (int argc, char *argv[]). In the next version we will also look for void main(void) {.

12. I want a refund

Sorry no refunds given. However, we can look into or fixup any issues with the Simulator. There have been a few every now and then.
